(ATR) The United States moved ahead of China in the medal count at the end of Day 6 of London 2012.  Both nations have 18 gold medals, while the United States has 37 medals to China's 34. 

Great Britain earned three more gold to bring their total to 5.  That gives them the 5th most gold medals overall.

Overall, 49 nations have won a medal, with 23 of them winning gold.
