World Fit Walk 2012
The World Fit mission is to promote a culture of health and fitness for children. World Fit strives to eradicate both childhood obesity and the enormous toll obesity has taken on families, society and healthcare systems.
Through Olympian and Paralympian participation, World Fit pairs these mentors with schools to inspire their students about the importance of health, fitness and Olympic values of perseverance, respect and fair play. The World Fit Walk is the heart of the World Fit program. Each year, the Walk begins on the Monday following Spring break and continues for the following six weeks. Daily, students who participate in the World Fit Walk will log their miles via the website, www.worldfit.org.

U.S. Archery
"Shooting for Gold"
USA Archery kicks off one of its most important initiatives, called "Shooting for Gold:" an effort to raise funds to support the team and the organization in the lead-up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Hoping to capitalize on the excitement of 2012, USA Archery has launched a peer donation engine, which is a secure online portal that will allow people to raise funds for USA Archery, or make a one-time donation to the organization.

Team South Africa Mascot

Sports loving South Africans will get to vote for a Team South Africa mascot for all multi-coded sports events going forward from the London Olympics and Paralympics later this year.
This is part of the national Olympic governing body SASCOC’s drive to create a national identity around the team, also at future events like the Commonwealth Games, World Games, All Africa Games and Zone VI games.

As the Presenting Partner of the Film Nation: Shorts programme, Panasonic UK Limited will be working with LOCOG, the UK Film Council and its partners, to provide UK-wide film making workshops for young people. Shorts workshops will cover everything from camera skills to how to develop a story through to direction and how to successfully work with actors. Through the sessions and online resources Film Nation: Shorts intends to encourage the making of over 2,000 fi lms celebrating sport, participation, achievement and excellence in the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The competitions will begin in March 2010 culminating in special award ceremonies each year.

The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the world governing body for horse sport, is calling on equestrian enthusiasts and designers of all ages around the world to enter its online competition to create new “pictograms” for its disciplines.
The competition, launched today on FEI Facebook and www.fei.org, is open until midnight on 19 April 2012, with no limit on the number of entries per person.

2013 World Triathlon Series

The International Triathlon Union (ITU) today opened bidding for the 2013 ITU World Triathlon Series. The bidding is open to host cities and National Federations wishing to hold one of the eight coveted series events.
The successful bidding cities will join London, already named as host of the 2013 ITU Triathlon World Championship Grand Final scheduled for September 2013, on the 2012 Olympic venue in Hyde Park. Current and past host cities include Sydney, Madrid, Hamburg, Seoul, San Diego, and Washington D.C.

Play the Games 2013

Play the Game calls upon potential partners to declare their interest in hosting Play the Game 2013, the 8th world communication conference on sport and society.
Play the Game 2013 is expected to gather 3-400 leading media professionals, academics, sports officials, sports business executives and students from 40-50 countries worldwide. It is envisaged that the conference is arranged over four-five days in the second half of 2013.
