Richmond Welcomes Vancouver 2010 Torch

(ATR) The Vancouver 2010 flame reaches Richmond today with 3 days to go until the Olympic Games.
Yesterday highlights include the Vancouver Olympic torch relay traveling through 9 towns and being carried by four Olympians as it departed Mission and made its way across British Columbia.
This morning, the torch relay departs Surrey and heads through the town of White Rock where swimming Olympian Sarah Evanetz runs with the flame.
The torch heads southeast to Peace Arch and then northwest through North Delta where field hockey Olympian Peter Motzek carries the flame.
In New Westminster, torchbearer Laura Cuthbert will carry the torch on a paddle wheeler.
A welcome celebration will take place at Queens Park and feature a performance by British Columbia Girls Choir.
The torch progresses through Tsawwassen and Ladner before it reaches the final destination point of the day in the coastal city of Richmond located within the Metro Vancouver district and home of the Vancouver International Airport.
Judo Olympian Alan Sakai, equestrian Olympian Hawley Bennett, baseball Olympian Jimmy van Ostrand, rowing Olympian Sabrina Kolker and athletics Olympian Shirley Olafsson are scheduled to be torchbearers.
A welcome celebration will take place at O Zone in Minoru Park and include the Richmond Chorus giving an exciting performance.
Tomorrow, the Olympic Flame travels through 7 towns, will be carried by a Canadian astronaut and ten Olympians and reaches North and West Vancouver.
