(ATR) The Vancouver 2010 torch crosses into Newfoundland and Labrador on Day 13 of the journey through Eastern Canada.

Yesterday highlights include the 2010 Olympic torch traveling through Quebec with pit stops in the communities of Kuujjuaq, Gaspe, Uashat Mak Mani-Utenam and Sept-Isles. Thirty-six torch bearers helped carry the flame to the next destination.

Today, the torch relay will spend the Remembrance Day national holiday in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada’s most easterly province, with stops in Wabush, Labrador City, Happy Valley, Sheshatshiu, North West River and Goose Bay. Twenty torchbearers from the Goose Bay Canadian Forces Base will carry the flame on a day when Canada’s war dead and wounded are remembered with ceremonies across the country.

On Thursday, the flame will travel southeast along the Canadian coast.
